RE: Sundance by Heartland--bad news

This site is interesting. I own a new Heartland Landmark and we are happy with it. Yes it has had some teething problems but so did the other 4 5th wheels I owned previously. What impresses me here is the maturity of non Heartland owners in their response to the OP. Commom sense is still common, thank God. So by the time I got this far in the tread I ate all the popcorn and now I need a beer.

RE: 2008 vs. 2007 Dodge Ram MPG's

I had a 04.5 5.9 2500 and traded for an 08 dually with the 6.7. At first the mileage was poor. Got better and now I am very pleased. At my max CGVW we enjoyed 10.5 mpg in Montana with our heavy fiver. Solo get 20 at 60 mph. Back home in Canada I have got a high of 24 mpg using the Imperial gallon. Overall couldn't be happier

RE: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info.

I have a Champion gen set and we just got a new 5th wheel that has a sealed compartment in the front for the installation of a generator. How can I rig up an exhaust system for the Champion. I was also thinking of putting a good sized fan in there and plugging it into the gen set to help blow air through the compartment. We will only be using the generator on an infrequent basis such as making my coffee on the side of road.
thanks for all replies

RE: What new trailer has a computer desk and room for washer?

Ed White
Look at Kelowna Truck and RV in your location. We just bought a 09 Heartland, Landmark from them that will fit your bill to a "T". Ask for Karl

RE: Installing a ShurFlow Power Vent

Just did by buddies today. We put it in the bedroom and tapped into the ceiling light without a problem and it was close enough to the opening to reach in pull the wires through. Check out the wires at the lights as they may be wired live there and then back to the switch like this was.

RE: Exhaust Brake for Dodge RAM

With your automatic you would might want to be careful and plan your purchase. You have to remember that tranny was never meant to have an exhaust brake and needs a few mods to make it work right without blowing the tranny. Check it out on the Dodge sites. Plenty of info on the TDR site etc.

Alko axles - how good are the current ones

I have read a few posts here about this brand of axle. The new trailer I ordered has 7000 lb Alkos. Apparently the axle was bad a few years ago. Have they improved. Comments please.

RE: Western RV Closed(Alpenlite}

There may be more yet with the current economic situation. If people can't afford their house they won't be buying trailers (at least not to travel in).

RE: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info.

I have been following this thread off and on for quite a while now. I want a gen set for my RV and in a pinch for my furnace if we have a black out. I live in Canada and so the Canadian Standards come into play. Dealers in the U.S. will not ship to Canada (probably something to do with the different electrical standards). In Canada Champion sells several models for us only. By visiting there site at championpowserequipment.com/generator.php I was able to compare the US model C46540 (RV ready) and the closest Canadian model, CSA40015 which is RV ready, but uses an adapter plug, and doesn't have 220. The CSA version is 3500/3000 vs the US one which is 4000/3500. They do appear somewhat similar except for their ratings. Can anyone tell me how they compare or if the CSA40015 will power a 15,000 btu A/C unit. Your help is greatly appreciated.
